For those who knew Bill Hamm, he was a particularly generous man who would often gift things to those who he thought could use it. This would sometimes be a labor of love using his skill in wood or metal working, and other times would be spur-of-the-moment where he would begin searching through his pockets to find something to bless someone with. I was given plenty of breath mints and candy treats out of these pockets. One particular memory comes to mind - Around 1997, we attended Calvary Assembly of God in Stottville along with my Uncle Bill and his family. He volunteered in the PA booth and one day a little old lady in the church had left her Bible at church which eventually ended up in this PA booth. When he saw her, I watched him grab her Bible, and slide a $100 bill into its cover and walk over to return it to her. A few moments later, she came over very excitable and showed the bill to Bill. He told her that the Lord must have led someone to be a blessing to her today... after she returned to her seat, he leaned over to me with a big smile on his face and said that this woman was going through a particularly difficult time as her husband had recently passed away and he felt the Lord's leading to do this for her. I'm not sure how often he felt this leading, but for the next 25 years, I witnessed his continued generosity. He has been a great example for me in this. I love you Uncle Bill. You will be missed, but we will see you again.

Mike and I are so thankful that God allowed us to be a part of Bill's life. There are so many good memories Delta Lake fishing, making popcorn for movie night at the church, Celebrate Freedom, secret drop-off of food during COVID. I hung up the saw he made for us the other day and was so touched by Bill's thoughtfulness and love. He always made us feel as if we belonged. He blessed us so much and was a good friend. He will be missed. Rest in peace our Brother in Christ.

Bill helped me with my first ever wood working project when I was 14 (2004). We built a coat hanger that I still have today and only recently took off the wall. He taught me the importance of patience and doing things right the first time. I really enjoyed spending time with him and will always have fond memories of him.
He will be missed,
Thomas Greer

One of my favorite memories of Mr. Bill is how much he loved working with the kids in Haiti. He brought his incredible welding skills to share with those who were so much less fortunate. Not only did he teach young men a trade with which they could earn a living, but he also blessed the orphanage with dozens of cribs for babies. Pictured here is the team he traveled with in the summer of 2012 In front of one of the double-decker cribs he constructed. God bless Mr. Bill!

Our family was so thankful we got to know Bill, even if it was only during the last few years of his life. He and Rebecca welcomed us into their life group when we first moved to the area and have been a gift to us ever since then. So thankful we will get an eternity with you as our paths crossing on earth was too short.

Dearest Hamm family, Bill and I were outlaws together. We did not always agree but I believe we had a mutual respect for each other. Although being in the same family was not by choice, we were absolutely family. We both adored each other's children. I mourn with you. The world, your world, will be off kilter for a while. It's ok to mourn. My personal best memory of Bill was when he so very proudly presented me with the grandfather clock he made me. It still stands in my dining room, signed by him. I treasure it deeply. He's been a part of my life for 31 years. The family has suffered a great loss. May you find some comfort in the kind words shared in this book.
Love,
Aunt Wendy

I have so many great memories of Bill. We grew up together and spent a lot of time together. Bill and his brothers are the closest thing to brothers I could ever have. But one memory does stand out for me. Bill loved hunting. And him and I gone hunting one year and he had shot a doe. We were quite a ways from the truck and we decided to try to take a short cut up through the woods and up a long hill. We were both huffing and puffing up this hill and we laughed the entire way. We ended up going through some private property and through someone’s yard. Bill was a little worried because he didn’t know whose property it was. Well, the guy came out of his trailer and I laughed because the guy ended up being someone I worked with at Gaylord’s Disposal Service. He was so relieved! Bill was adventurous, and was one of the most loving, kind and compassionate people I knew. I’ll miss you cuz so much.

Becky, Christa, Jermey, Elizabeth and family,
May Jesus continue to wrap his arms around you and comfort you during this time. Bill will always be remembered as a loving caring man who shared his love for Jesus with everyone. His love for his family was also evident. Everyone who knew Bill was surely blessed. Take comfort in knowing that he’s in the arms of Jesus and no longer in pain.
