Obituary of Charles J. Metz

Charles John (Charlie) Metz, 89, Valatie, NY passed away on October 31, 2023 at the Veterans Hospital in Albany, NY with his spouse by his side. Charlie was born in Rossman, NY to Charles and Frieda Metz on 12/29/1933. He went to high school at Hudson High School. He worked as an electrician at Brown Paper Company for forty years. He enjoyed boating, fishing, the Yankees, the New England seascape and cuisine. Charlie is survived by his wife, Ruth of Valatie, children Marci (Jim) Wall, Jeffrey Metz, Gregory Metz and Tracy Mather, siblings George Metz, Jerry Metz and Arlene Favour, grandchildren Owen (Erica) Wall, Brandon Wall, Jessica Spencer, Ryan Metz and Erin Metz, two great grandchildren, Aurora and Ryder Spencer, several nephews and nieces and a nephew in law Richard (Debbie) Mann. In lieu of flowers a memorial donation may be made to an organization of your choice. The family wishes to extend their gratitude to the staff at the Stratton Veterans Hospital for all the great care and compassion given to Charlie and his family. Memorial services will be private per the family's wishes.
