Obituary of Carl Schools

Carl S. Schools died peacefully at Albany Medical Center on March 9, 2023 at the age of 69 with his beloved wife holding his hand. He was born on April 14, 1953 to Henry Knitt Schools and Frances (Phillips) Schools. Carl attended Ichabod Crane Central Schools and moved to Texas shortly after where he then traveled the world for Henderson Limited based in Dallas. Carl moved back to NY in 2000 and joined the family real estate business, Old Ghent Realty, started by his mother Frances in 1974. Carl enjoyed hunting, golfing, fishing, and anything that involved nature. Carl's real love was his grandchildren; attending their sporting events, and simply watching them grow. He was incredibly proud of them all. Predeceased by his parents; Carl is survived by his wife, Pamela Herzing of Chatham; his son, Philip (Brittany) Schools of Chatham; step-daughters, Tammy (Keith) Crawford of Valatie and Sandra (Stuart) Flavin of Ghent; siblings, Timothy (Cindy) Schools of Feura Bush, Beverly Kipp of Elizaville and Jon David Schools of Ghent; grandchildren, Parker and Jameson Schools; and he was also Papa to, Timothy Crawford, Brady and Griffin Reardon, and Reyna Jackson, all of whom he loved like his own. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews who he loved dearly. A memorial Service and celebration of life will be held at Kozel's Restaurant in Ghent, NY on Saturday, March 18th at 2:00.
