I am so sad to hear of his passing. I worked for Mr. Baller when he was with Sanford & Forner. When he went out on his own, he invited me to come with him to his new office which I did at 90 State Street. I was there for a number of years. I will always remember him as a good guy, a happy guy.
Judge Baller was a good friend of my former employer, Bill Hoblock. I worked next door to the Sanford, Forner firm at 90 State St. in the early 60s. I remember Judge Baller's quick wit with Bill when Russ came to take Bill to lunch even after so many years when the firm I worked for moved up to Wolf Road. Their friendship endured so many years. Judge Baller always made me laugh when he stopped in to the firm where Bill was a partner. He will be so missed.
Could not have asked for a better father-in-law... We had a wonderful relationship that included such zany times on the golf course. A gifted orator in his own life experiences and stories, Russ was truly a gift to us all. My thoughts and prayers are especially focused on his wife, Flora, and the rest of the immediate family... with much love and respect I hope to see you on the back nine in the sky, kind sir. David
