Obituary of Peter F. Volkmann

Peter F. Volkmann, 79, of Valatie, NY, died Thursday, December 24, 2020 at his home. Born December 2, 1941 in Peekskill, NY, he was the son of the late Peter Edward and Nora (Scott) Volkmann. Peter was a paid Fireman for the City of Peekskill for 35 years. He was a past President of the Centennial Hose Co. in Peekskill. His grandchildren, Jaycee and Peter were his pride and joy! He never missed any of their sporting events. He is survived by his wife of 59 years: Jan (Murden) Volkmann, one son: Peter Volkmann III (Layne) of Stuyvesant, NY, his sister: Alvara Tompkins of Poughkeepsie, NY and his grandchildren Jaycee Volkmann and Peter Volkmann IV and several nieces and nephews. A private graveside service will be held at Assumption Cemetery in Cortlandt, NY. There will be no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Ichabod Crane Riders Booster Club, P.O. Box 658, Kinderhook, NY 12106. Arrangements are under the direction of the Raymond E. Bond Funeral Home, Valatie.
