Why is it we wait until it is too late to reminisce about the past. I have so many memories of Vera as a high school classmate, church member and nursing school classmate (roommates for awhile). I remember hilarious times at Oakwood Park at Lake Wawasee at Summers's cottage. How much cleaner the lake was in the late 50's. I can remember times I stayed at her home on Old Auburn Rd in Ft Wayne. Her folks did not heat the upstairs of the old (not-insulated,I swear) farmhouse. Man, was that cold---snow on the window ledge in the winter. Her mom introduced me to the tasty delight of creamed Kohlrabi. I still prefer it raw. Your struggle is over and you gave it a heck of a ride. I wonder if you know how many lives you touched so beautifully. Mine was one. I am sitting here smiling at some of the antics I dare not share. RIP my dear friend. We shall meet again.
