Obituary of Susan E. Tomchik

Susan E. Tomchik, 81, of Kinderhook, NY, passed away peacefully on January 8, 2025. Born on September 1, 1943 in Hudson, NY, she was the beloved daughter of Dudley "Ray" and Vivian Meyer. Susan attended Ichabod Crane Central School and, following her graduation, devoted herself to raising her family. Her nurturing spirit and dedication to her loved ones were hallmarks of her life. She is survived by her cherished children, Kevin (Theresa) Van Allen, Shari Van Allen Cardato, and Christopher Tomchik. Susan was a proud grandmother to Rachel Talarico, Oliver Tomchik, Alice Tomchik, and Henry Tomchik. Her legacy continues through her great-grandchildren Brayden, Blake, and Mason. Susan was predeceased by her sister Kathleen Ann Ovellette and her devoted husband, Andrew Tomchik, with whom she shared many wonderful years. Her presence in the lives of her family and friends will be deeply missed, but her love and warmth will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
