Obituary of Keith A Schoonmaker

April 27, 1963-December 30, 2024 There are no words to describe the true elegance of a love shared through thick and thin. It is best demonstrated by the grace and strength of the family, which became Keith's greatest achievement. After a long and courageous journey, on December 30th we lost a best friend, son, husband, father, grandfather and brother. His everlasting love will carry us through. A graduate of Ichabod Crane Central School District and Hudson Valley Community College, the highlights of Keith's professional career were his service to his country in the United States Air Force and his employment at General Electric. Keith is survived by his mother and stepfather Janet and Joseph VanLueven, wife Bonnie Schoonmaker, son Michael Schoonmaker, daughter Andrea Schoonmaker and partner Charles Graham, along with his beloved granddaughter Julia Schoonmaker. Siblings include Andrew Schoonmaker, Candice Schoonmaker-Cuttle and husband Tim Cuttle, Terry Hulsopple, Joesph Schoonmaker, Michael Hulsopple and wife Cindy Hulsopple along with the many nephews, nieces and cousins which he adored. Keith's father and stepmother Andrew and Beverly Schoonmaker were waiting at heaven's gates to guide him. Internment will be at the Gerald BH Solomon National Cemetery. A celebration of life will follow in the spring. To commemorate Keith's love of all creatures great and small, in lieu of flowers, a donation to the Columbia Greene Humane Society may be made in his honor.
