Carol Ann Knoll, 85, of Kinderhook, NY, died Sunday, August 9, 2020 at her home Born September 23, 1934 in Yonkers, NY, she was the daughter of the late George Godfrey and Marguerite (Beem) Kass. Carol and Albert met in Bermuda in 1955 and it was love at first sight. They were married in 1957 and purchased the Blue Spruce Inn & Suites in 1961. She was a lifelong, passionate gardener and an active member of the Kinderhook Garden Club. She was a Docent and member of the Kinderhook Historical Society. Carol was fortunate enough to pass away peacefully at her home with all her family at her side. She was beloved by her family and will be terribly missed. She is survived by her husband: Albert J. Knoll, three children, Steven A. Knoll of Valatie, NY; Robert John Knoll of Boston, MA; and Susan von Reusner of Red Hook, NY, three brothers: William Kass, Sam Kass and David Kass ; seven grandchildren; Sarah and Elizabeth Knoll both of Boston, MA; Lucia von Reusner of Washington, DC; Michael Knoll of Kinderhook, NY; Jonathan von Reusner of Philadelphia, PA; Rachel Knoll of San Francisco, CA and Stephanie Knoll of Kinderhook, NY. Private family services will be held at her home with a garden consecrated in her memory and at Ferncliff Cemetery in Hartsdale, NY. For those who wish, contributions may be made to the Kinderhook Garden Club, P.O. Box 373 Kinderhook, NY 12106 or the ASPCA at www.aspca.org. Arrangements are with the Raymond E. Bond Funeral Home, Valatie, NY.
