Obituary of Marion Lee Alber

Marion Lee Alber, 68, of Valatie, NY passed away on November 18, 2024. Born on September 22, 1956 in Troy, NY, she was the daughter of the late Franz Joseph and Josephine (Keis) Alber. She was a graduate of the Albany Business College in Albany, NY and began working for Travelers Insurance and subsequently continued her career at Blue Cross for many years before her retirement. She had a love for crochet and also ran the Prayer Shaw Ministry at St. Mary's Church in Nassau, NY. Through out the years she donated many handmade blankets, hats and scarfs to homeless shelters and other local organizations. She also was an avid animal lover. She is survived by her sister, Kathleen (Robert) Monighetti of East Sandwich, MA; her nephews, Scott (Allex Gourlay) Monighetti of Rochester, MA and William (Sherrie) Monighetti of Sandwich, MA. She is also survived by her great niece and nephew, Mira and Oliver Monighetti. Calling Hours will take place from 10 - 11 AM, Saturday at St. Mary's Church in Nassau, NY. Her mass will begin at 11 AM and burial will follow at Most Holy Redeemer Cemetery in Niskayuna, NY. In lieu of flowers, please donate in Marion's name to the Columbia-Greene Humane Society.
