It is with heavy hearts that we announce,
Mrs. Rosemary A. Wallace passed away peacefully at home surrounded by the love and comfort of her children & family. She was reunited with her beloved husband Donald on September 15, 2024.
Rosemary was born on November 9, 1931 in the Bronx to her loving parents, T. Raymond and Agnes (née Fitzpatrick) Mooney.
Rosemary lived a life full of love, laughter and a deep faith. She had many adventures during her life, which she loved sharing stories of with her many friends. Above all, her favorite stories revolved around her family. She was an energizer bunny who loved parties & gathering with her family and friends, where good food, chocolate and a vodka tonic or two were generally involved. She loved spending winters in California and Georgia with her children & their families.
Rosemary attended the Villa Maria Academy in the Bronx where she made many lifelong friendships. After graduation, she furthered her education at Fordham University, also in the Bronx.
Rosemary began a career in Real Estate on Long Island before becoming a Licensed Real Estate broker and the proprietor of the Old Blacksmith Realty in Kinderhook for over 40 years until her retirement. She took great pride and joy in assisting her clients and working with other local realtors, many of whom became dear friends.
Rosemary's strength, perseverance & legacy will continue to live on in the hearts of her beloved family. She is survived by: her sister, Martha Mooney, children; Colleen Benza, John Wallace & wife Terri, Barbara Berger & partner John, Julie Shaw & husband Michael, William Wallace & wife Denise, and MaryBeth Wallace & partner Paul. She also leaves her grandchildren: Breanna & husband Nir, Kristina & husband Harry, Anthony & wife Rosie, Margaret & husband Jess, Olivia & fiancé Peter, Jenelle & husband Brandon and Wallace.
In addition, her great grandchildren: Bryson, Hailee, Ziva, Alexa, Jackson, Kennedy, Georgia Anne, Martin & Matthew. Also, her special cousin, Linda Purcell, lifelong best friend Jeanette Cuomo and longtime friend Joan Brown.
Rosemary was predeceased by her parents, beloved husband Donald, Daughter-in-law Karen and Son-in-laws Ray & Craig.
As per her wishes, a funeral mass will be conducted at St. John the Baptist, 1025 Kinderhook Street, Valatie, NY 12184 on Wednesday, September 18, 2024 at 11am.
The family is thankful for the exceptional care of Rosemary received from Ryan Marshall and staff, CMH Memorial 4 Nurses and staff, and the Community Hospice staff of Columbia County. Memorial donations for Rosemary may be made to Community Hospice or a charity of one's choosing.
While our hearts are forever broken, we will cherish the lifetime of memories we shared with our sweet, beautiful Mother… until we meet again, we'll see you later alligator…
