Peter S. Usyk Jr., 93 of Valatie, NY, passed away on August 04, 2024 in his home surrounded by family. Pete was born on July 14, 1931, in NYC, to the late Peter S. Sr. and Helen (Kuhmist) Usyk. Pete graduated from Chatham in 1949. He was an electrician and worked on locomotives for NY Central, Penn Central and Conrail until his retirement in 1992. He served the rail industry for 43 years. In his retirement, he enjoyed woodworking, hunting, fishing, gardening and bird watching. Pete was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He loved being with family and they loved being with him. Pete is survived by his loving wife Sheila (Williams) Usyk of 69 years. His three children, Mark (Carol) Usyk of Valatie, Wayne Usyk of Hudson, and Nancy (Ken) Heburn of St. Johns, FL. He is survived by seven grandchildren Trisha Bradley, Justin Usyk, Zachary Usyk, Alexandra White, Kristine Heburn, Joseph Heburn and Kelsey Heburn. In addition, his two great granddaughters Madeleine White and Ava Bradley whom he loved very much and was very proud of. Pete is also survived by his brother Harold (Jane) Usyk of Valatie and Gloria (Cliff) Wexler of Minneapolis and several nieces and nephews. Pete now joins his brother, the late, Richard (Dick) Usyk. Family and friends are invited to Raymond E. Bond Funeral Home on Saturday, August 10th from 11a-1p. The funeral service will begin at 1p. Interment will follow at St. John's The Baptist Cemetery in Valatie. Memorial donations, in his name, may be made to Community Hospice Center of Columbia and Green Counties.
