John Arnold Hunt, 73, passed away peacefully on April 11, 2024, at Albany Medical Center Hospital. John was born on January 12, 1951, in Schenectady NY, to Robert Hunt and Jewell Marie Jackson and grew up in Chatham, NY with Robert Hunt and bonus Mom Hedwig Hunt. Soon after graduating high school John joined the Army in August 1970. Where he received the National Defense Service Medal,Good Conduct Medal and first traveled to Europe to live in Italy. John was honorably discharged from the Army in July 1976. John worked at General Electric in Schenectady, NY. He lived in New York, Iowa and then an opportunity arose for John and his wife Roma to live in England. While in England, John applied and was accepted into a University in England where he received his college degree and title of Chartered Electrical Engineer. John went on to live in England with his beloved wife Roma until deciding to return to the states to be nearer to family. Upon his return John worked for Lockheed Martin at Knolls Atomic Power Lab in Schenectady NY until his retirement. John met the love of his life, Roma Frassinelli serendipitously at the eye doctor, bringing new meaning to the sentiment "I only have eyes for you." John went to the eye doctor for an eye exam because of a work accident and Roma was the receptionist. Excited to start their new lives together, the two were married soon after in January of 1981. After marriage they spent time with many happy memories traveling the states on John's motorcycle whenever possible. John had many interests; he loved homes that were fixer uppers, sailing and boating, motorcycles, jaguars and volvos. However what many may not have realized was John was a dog lover. Throughout his life he always had at least one dog and during his marriage with Roma their dogs were not pets they were extended family. The dogs were their constant companions even on vacations and road trips. His animals brought endless joy to his life and even "fame" when he was photographed and published in the Schenectady Gazette while playing with the dogs on a snowy day. John is survived by his siblings Roberta Whiteman, Thomas Hunt and William Hunt, his children; daughter Jennifer Hunt and step-daughter Ana Enos, grandchildren; Aldino Frassinelli, Christine Colyer and 3 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife Roma Hunt, brother Robert Hunt, and parents Robert and Hedwig Hunt.
