Joseph Pino (Joe, Joey, Dad, Uncle Joe, Papa) 90 of Stuyvesant, NY passed away on June 22nd at his home in Stuyvesant surrounded by his family. Joe graduated from Martin Van Buren High School in 1951. Not long after, he served in the US Army as a Communications Specialist in the Korean war. He served in the army from 1951-1955. He worked for the Fort Orange Paper Company as a General Manager for 50 years. Joe was an avid sports fan. He enjoyed softball, bowling, football, basketball and golf. He started playing golf after he could no longer play his favorite sport which was baseball. His love for his wife could only be matched by his love for the NY Yankees. He was a member of the Columbia County Baseball League and coached a women's softball team in the late 70's-early 80's, the Elks Club, a lifelong member of the Fire Company and VFW 9593 in Stuyvesant Falls and a member of the Winding Brook Country Club. Joe is survived by his loving wife, Johanna VanKampen Pino, his daughters, Valerie Bertram, Jolene McClintick, his son Ronald (Debbie) Proniski and his brother Frank (Margaret) Pino. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren along with many beloved nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Mary Pino. His siblings Teresa "Dolly" (Valentine), Antonette (George), his daughter Laura (Russ) Williams and son Richard (Colleen) Davis Jr. Joe was known by many names to those he loved. Joey, Dad, Uncle Joe and Papa. His family will always remember the kind, wise and loving man that he was. We were all better for having him in our lives. He was always quick to praise when deserved as well as giving a Papa style "attitude adjustment" when needed. He will be missed beyond measure. A Celebration of life will be held at the Stuyvesant Fire house Rt 26-A in Stuyvesant on Friday, June 28th at 1:00 pm. All are welcome to attend and share a story. In Lieu of flowers, donations can be made to The Community Hospice of Columbia & Greene County, 47 Liberty Street, Catskill, NY 12414 and the Stuyveant Fire Company.
