Obituary of Helen A. Praga

Helen "Chink" A. Praga, 86, of Valatie, NY passed away peacefully surrounded by her family at home on April 12, 2024. Born in Hudson, NY on May 3, 1937, she was the daughter of the late Edward and Jennie (Youzwak) Williams and the wife of the late Phillip A. Praga. Before her retirement, she was a receptionist for the Barnwell Nursing Home in Valatie. Chink is survived by her daughter, Phyllis Hermance of Valatie; brother, Eugene "Pipper" Williams of Niverville, NY; sister, Sheila Usyk of Chatham Center, NY; grandchildren, Phillip A. (Linda) Martel, Christopher (Gabby) Lee, Jennifer (Nicolas) Lee and Andrea (Billy) Lee; 11 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents and husband, she is also predeceased by a daughter, Philecia Lee; a brother, Edward "Archie" Williams; sisters, Jeannette Tator, Pauline Hamm and Patricia Wheeler and her son-in-law, Bud Hermance. Calling hours will be from 10 -12 PM, Tuesday at the Raymond E. Bond Funeral Home, Valatie followed by a graveside service at 12:30 PM at St. John's Cemetery, Valatie. Donations in Helen's name may be sent to the Valatie Rescue Squad or the Valatie Fire Company.
