Janet Adelaide (Sauveur) Mills, 82 of Niverville, NY passed away on Monday February 5, 2024; at St. Peter's Hospital in Albany, NY Janet was born in Stamford, NY to Chester Sauveur and Elizabeth (Libby) Augusta (Osborn) Sauveur on May 20, 1941. She graduated from Grand Gorge Central School in 1959. She went on to earn a degree from Albany Business College in 1961. Janet was an Office Manager for the NY Board of Fire Underwriters in Albany, NY from 1987 to 2001. She was a Mary Kay Consultant for 20+ years. Earlier in her career Janet worked in the hospitality industry as a server and manager in numerous restaurants. Janet loved her dog Winston dearly and enjoyed many trips to the Maine Coast with him. She was an avid animal lover and took pleasure in helping those around her. Janet also loved her previous poodle, Holly and her Morgan Horse, Tony who she won many horse shows with. In her early years she enjoyed many trips to NYC to take in the splendors of the Broadway Musicals. Janet loved her children, grandchildren and many close friends deeply. Janet is survived by her daughter, Julie Mills of Troy, NY, her son Chester Mills and his wife Avril of Kinderhook, NY and her grandchildren Luke, Adelayde and Parker. She is preceded in death by her ex-husband Richard Mills, parents Chester and Elizabeth Sauveur, and brother Richard Sauveur. Calling Hours will be held at the Raymond E. Bond Funeral Home in Valatie, NY on Sunday February 11,2024 from 12-2pm; with a service to follow at 2pm with Pastor David Haase of Niverville-Chatham United Methodist Church officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Niverville- Chatham United Methodist Church, Niverville, NY.
