Please share a memory of Amy to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Amy Dioné Pertgen, 48, of Niverville, NY passed away in her home on Thursday, January 25, 2024.
Amy was born in Heidleberg, Germany to Virginia and Stephen Pertgen in March 1975. She went to high school at Ichabod Crane and graduated in 1993. She went on to earn a Bachelors of Business Administration from Sienna College in 1997. After graduating from college, she began working as an auditor the NYS Governor's Traffic Safety Commitee. Amy was the fiscal "gatekeeper" for GTSC and kept the multi-millions of grant funded activities moving forward and in compliance. She was a dedicated, valued, and much loved employee for over 25 years.
Amy was a proud single mother of Audrey and Rebecca who were the loves of her life. She made it her mission to be there for her children and you could often times find her at the high school track meets, marching band parades, horse shows and anywhere else her children were. She was very much a cat lover and she doted on her two cats, Jasper and Artemis. She lived life to the fullest and very much enjoyed traveling to the beach whenever possible.
Amy was a dedicated Girl Scout. Having earned the Gold Award (the highest award in Girl Scouts), she wanted to make sure that her girls had the opportunity to experience scouting. As such, she became an active Girl Scout leader and Cookie Mom.
Amy is survived by her beloved children Audrey and Rebecca, her sister Jennifer (Jason) Redman, four aunts and their families; Cheryl Sweet, Donna Brandley, Gayle (Bruce) Bartels, and Paulette Pertgen, uncle John Brandley, her nieces Emma and Abby, her nephew Julian, several cousins and their families; Krystal (Josh) Sawicki, Bruce Bartels, Dave (Michelle) Sweet, Amanda Buchanon, Jason Brandley, John Pertgen, Diane Travers, her close friend Claudia, and countless other friends that she loved and adored.
