Obituary of Jane Marie Fuda
Please share a memory of Jane to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
After 87 years and a full, rewarding life, Jane Marie Fuda went home to Heaven on Tuesday, December 5, 2023.
Jane and her twin sister Jean were born to the Chase family on their farm in Lowville, NY. At the age of 4, they were adopted by Carl and Ruth (Abbott) Magsamen and raised in Shrub Oak and Monticello, NY. After the passing of Ruth, she moved with her father, sister and stepmother, Elinor, to Hudson, NY.
After graduating from Hudson HS, Jane attended SUNY New Paltz to study education and was introduced to Charles Fuda by Jean. Jane & Charles wed in 1958, and ended up moving to New York City, and then Kinderhook, where they raised their four children. They lived many happy years in this area. After the passing of her husband, she moved to Apex, NC to live with her daughter Ruth.
Jane was very artistic. She loved to paint, play piano, carve birds, restore antiques, and tend to her many gardens. She also spent a lot of time with her husband and children at their camp at the Hook Boat Club, where she would often be found watching birds.
Jane is survived by her son Charles Fuda Jr. (Nadine), daughter Ruth Wormald, daughter Marie Scott (Andy), and daughter-in-law Janice Fuda. She is also survived by 7 grandchildren who she loved very much: Charles Fuda III (Julianne), Ashley Campion (Michael), David Wormald (Leah), Jonathan Wormald (Shereen), Elizabeth Geibel (Conrad), Jared Myers, and Dayna Scott, as well as 6 great grandchildren. She is also survived by her step-sister Carla Heath. She is predeceased by her husband Charles Fuda, son Daniel Fuda, sister Jean Newell, and brothers Robert, Richard, and Harold Chase.
Jane was predeceased by many loving pets, but she leaves behind her little watch dog Lucy and her shy cat JoJo. Both miss her very much.
