Elizabeth (Betty) Mueller, 87, of Valatie, passed away peacefully at home on November 9, 2023, with her family by her side. Elizabeth was born on October 3, 1936, in Brooklyn, New York, the daughter of the late Otto and Elizabeth(DeSola) Koch. She was married on October 11, 1958 to Otto Mueller at the Resurrection Church in Gerritsen Beach. They settled in Gerritsen Beach soon after and had 3 sons Thomas, Robert and John. In 1972 they moved the whole family up to Kinderhook Lake where they happily resided for the remainder of their lives. Her beloved husband Otto passed away on June 29, 2012.

Elizabeth was an assessor for the town of Chatham and a secretary for the Anderson Agency. She loved spending time with her grandchildren cooking for them and helping them make forts with all the pillows and blankets in the house. She had an active social life always playing cards with friends, bowling and golfing. After retirement her and Otto spent a lot of their time traveling abroad and in the states. They enjoyed their time living in Florida in the winters and summers with family at the lake.

She is survived by her brother Robert Koch (Charlotte), her sister Lorraine (John), her sons Thomas (Kelly), Robert (Molly), John (Ann) her 5 grandchildren Katelyn, David (Mapa), Megan, John and Sean as well as her two great-grandchildren Raley and Rocco.

We invite you to celebrate her life and share stories of Betty during the wake on Saturday, November 11th from 9:30am to 11am at Saint John the Baptist Church in Valatie. Her Funeral Mass will be held directly after as well as a grave side burial at Saint John the Baptist Cemetery. Reception to follow at Kinderhook Lake Community Hall on Electric Park. In Lieu of flowers donations can be made in Betty's honor to the Community Hospice.
