The loving and appreciative family of Lillian A Wilcox sadly announce her passing on Wednesday October 11, at her home in Kinderhook with her husband and all her children at her side. She had bravely and with grace been dealing with the effects of a stroke suffered this past January. Lillian was born and grew up in Cobleskill NY. Her parents were Burton and Lela Vrooman. From a young age Lillian always knew what she wanted to do in life. After graduating high school Lillian attended Albany Memorial School of Nursing and became an R.N. In 1970 she met her husband Landale Wilcox with whom she was united in a marriage that was meant to be, and flourished for 52 years. The couple made their home in Albany, then Delmar before settling in the Kinderhook area. Lillian was an avid reader and took great pleasure in her collection of books. She also enjoyed attending to her garden. She loved her family and was a source of courage, and an example of strength and values to her five daughters. She was a fully committed partner, friend and best earthly companion to her fortunate husband. She is survived by her husband Dale, her five daughters Sara (Anthony), Abby (Salvatore), Mandy (Gerard), Emily (Brian), Elizabeth (Ryan) and 14 beautiful grandchildren. She is predeceased by her younger sister Nancy Winkler. Her Funeral services will be on Wednesday October 18, at the Raymond E. Bond Funeral Home, at 1015 Kinderhook Street, in Valatie with the Rev. Nick Becker officiating. Calling hours are 10am - 12pm, with a service beginning at 12:00. Interment will follow immediately in Kinderhook. Contact for the funeral home is 518.758.7031.
