Obituary of Stephen M. Parks

Stephen M. Parks, 72, of Valatie, N.Y. passed away on May 5, 2023 at Albany Medical Center. He was born in Philadelphia, Pa. to Noah and Dorothy Parks on July 13, 1950. He earned his Masters degree in education from Temple University and was a Special Education Teacher at various private schools over the past 30 years. While he had many interests he had a vivid imagination, played the guitar, and absolutely loved animals. He took great pleasure in his retirement spending time at the dog park interacting with the owners and the many, many dogs. He was somewhat of a dog whisperer...always winning the trust of even the most fearful or timid of dogs and loving every minute of it. He is survived by his wife, Diane of Valatie, N.Y., son, Brendon of Nassau, N.Y., sisters Tina (Tim) Scimeca and Lisa Nielsen, and several nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents and brother, Jack. Memorial donations may be made to The American Lung Association.
