I worked with then Brother Joseph at West Point. He was the Director of Religious Education, and I was the organist-choir director. He was there when I converted to Catholicism, and we had many wonderful discussions every day. He left West Point to another assignment and then seminary at the same time that I left to enter the seminary. We were both ordained the same year. We unfortunately lost contact for a while, until he heard about me being the chaplain at Sing Sing Prison. That is when we resumed contact for a few years while he was a pastor in Vermont. When I no longer heard from him, I assumed he must have died, since he was so much older than I. It was only a few weeks ago that I learned he was still alive, and I called the residence and left a message while he was away. Unfortunately, then it was too late. My condolences to all who knew this wonderful man! Fr. Ronald Lemmert, Peekskill, NY
