Obituary of Phillip A. Praga

Phillip A. Praga, 85, of Valatie, NY, passed away Tuesday, December 7, 2021 at his home. Born March 19, 1936 in Albany, NY, he was the son of the late Mark and Bellma (Williams) Praga. Phil started out as a self-employed autobody man and worked at Sterling-Winthrop and Columbia County Solid Waste in Kinderhook before retiring. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and enjoyed talking to everyone. The greatest joy in his life was his grandson Phil. He is survived by his wife: Helen A. "Chink" (Williams) Praga, a daughter Phyllis Hermance (Vincent) of Valatie, 4 grandchildren, Phillip A. Martel (Linda), Christopher Lee (Gabby), Jennifer Lee (Josh) and Andrea Lee (Billy), 11 great grandchildren, Vivianna, Valentina, PJ, Blake, Hayes, Camron, Gabby, Jannessa, Anthony, Grayson and Logan and his loving canine companion Duke and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his daughter Philecia Lee and brother Salvatore Praga. Funeral services will be held Friday, December 10, 2021at 1:00pm from the Raymond E. Bond Funeral Home, Valatie. Burial will follow in St. John the Baptist Cemetery, Valatie. Visitation will be Friday from 11-1pm prior to the service.
