Obituary of Nora Abigail MacIntosh

Nora Abigail MacIntosh, 17, of Kinderhook, NY, passed away surrounded by family on Saturday, July 3, 2021. She was born in Troy, NY, on June 18, 2004. Nora adored her family and friends. She was everyone's best cheerleader and took genuine pleasure in the successes of those she loved. First and foremost, Nora loved God. She thoroughly enjoyed her time at AWANA and was thrilled to be an assistant Sunday school teacher. Nora was an outdoor girl who usually spent as much time as possible playing outside. She loved to camp, play basketball and soccer, go to the playground and her gymnastics class, swim, bike, and ride horses. Nora loved all animals and especially her dogs, Sadie and Buster, and her pet chicken, Corn. She loved music and sang and played her instruments with gusto, often giving impromptu concerts to the neighborhood. Nora loved to pretend – she would act out scenes from her favorite television shows, relive daily experiences, and pretend to work at various jobs. When not outside, Nora would "chill" with her dogs, draw, dance, play video games like Minecraft, and watch YouTube. Nora loved playing with her friends and would do so as often as she could. Nora embodied what it means to truly love life and always made the best of every situation. Her infectious laugh will forever be a part of our memories. Nora is preceded in death by her grandparents Carl and Marlene MacIntosh and Sandie Murnane. Nora is survived by her loving parents Bruce and Ann MacIntosh; grandparents Matt and Kathy Murnane; sisters Emily and Grace MacIntosh; brothers Tyler, Adam, and Jared MacIntosh as well as a large extended family. She was the proud Auntie Nora to her niece, Violet MacIntosh. Nora was never a big fan of funeral flowers and particularly lilies, so in lieu of those, donations in Nora's memory may be made to any one of the three organizations that had an enormous impact in her life – STRIDE Adaptive Sports, Capital Region Miracle League, and High & Mighty Therapeutic Riding and Driving Center. A Celebration of Nora's life will be held Saturday, July 10, 2021, 11:00am at Emmanuel Reformed Church in Castleton NY. Visitation hours will be Friday, July 9, 2021 from 4:00 – 8:00pm at the Raymond E. Bond Funeral Home, Route 9, Valatie NY.
