Obituary of Barbara Ann Slater

Barbara Ann (Bachman) Slater, 76, a resident of Ghent NY was called home to the Lord on June 7th,2021. Born December 7, 1944 in Long Island, NY, she was the daughter of the late Rudolph Emil and Harriet Regina (Grimm) Bachman. Barbara's devotion to her family and her unwavering faith in Christ supported her in her valiant battle with cancer. Barbara was an inspiration to many to Love Better in the ways she opened her heart and home to serve others .Barbara will be dearly missed by her loved ones who celebrate the fact that she is at peace with her Creator. She is survived by her husband: Walter Alan Slater, six children; Karen Mink, Kimberly Blumenthal (Robert), Alfred Williams (Diane), Michael Williams (Kami), Michael Slater (Amanda), Paul Slater, two sisters; Heidi Bender and Linda Dickson, eleven grandchildren; Alicia and Jessica Mink, Gina Blumenthal, Christopher and Jamie-Lynn Williams, Avery Elgin, Matthew, Nicholas, Madison, Lacey and Alexandra Slater, a dear and devoted friend Mary Yula and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by two brothers, Kenneth and Richard Bachman. Funeral services will be held Saturday, June 12, 2021, 11:00 am, at St. John's Lutheran Church, Route 26A, Stuyvesant, NY with Rev. Dan Cohn officiating. Visitation hours will be held Friday, June 11 from 4-7pm at the Raymond E Bond Funeral Home, Valatie. In lieu of flowers or for those who wish, contributions may be made to St. John's Lutheran Church or Community Hospice of Columbia Greene.
