Obituary of Leona M. Rieker

Leona M. Rieker, 93, of Kinderhook, NY, passed away Tuesday, April 27, 2021 at The Pines At Catskill. Born July 6, 1927 in Bronx, NY, she was the daughter of the late Arthur and Leopoldina (Pella) Kleinfeldt. Mrs. Reiker was a Kindergarten teacher at Ichabod Crane Primary School for many years. She is survived by two sons: Rev. Eric Rieker of Pompton Lakes, NJ and Rev. John Rieker of Cairo, NY, eight grandchildren; Rhiannon, Rhonda, Renee, Eric, Zac, Joshua, Erica, Katherine, and Christopher, ten great grandchildren; Callista, Ryan, Emma, Cheyenne, Zachariah, Sebastian, Paige, Alex, Wyatt and Olivia. She was predeceased by her husband Rev. Eric H. Rieker. Funeral services will be held 10:00 am on Saturday, May 1 at St. Mark's Lutheran Church, Hudson NY with Rev. Jonathan Hodges officiating. Calling hours will be held Friday, April 30 from 5-8pm at the Raymond E Bond Funeral Home, Valatie. Burial will follow in Kinderhook Cemetery, In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Mark's Lutheran Church, Seminary Fund, 8 Storm Ave., Hudson, NY 12534.
