Obituary of Doris Mary Graham

Doris Mary Graham, 84, of Valatie, NY, passed away on March 21, 2024 with her son, Billy at her side. Born on April 26, 1939 in Valatie, she was the daughter of the late Joseph John and Elsie Grace (James) Youzwak and the wife of the late William Joseph Graham, Sr. who passed away in July of 1988. Doris was a graduate of the Ichabod Crane Central School District in Valatie. Before her retirement, she accomplished a long career at New York Telephone / NYNEX for 37 and a half years. She was an Operator, worked in the Mailroom then moved on to secretarial positions for many different people before completing her career in Exchange Carrier Relations which was a department that dealt with independent phone companies such as Berkshire Telephone Company in Kinderhook, NY. She was a member of the Tri-Village Seniors, the Telephone Pioneers and for 30 years a committee member for Boy Scout Troop 114. Doris is survived by her beloved son, William J. Graham, Jr. of Valatie and many nieces, nephews, cousins and lifelong friends. Besides her parents and husband, she was also predeceased by her sister-in-laws, Jackie and Marge O'Brien, Jean Graham and Lorraine Monaco and her brother-in-laws, Jack, Bob and Harold Graham. A mass of Christian burial for Doris will be held 12:30 PM, Monday at St. John the Baptist Church, Valatie, with Rev. Steve Matthews officiating. Calling hours will be prior to the service from 10-12 PM at the Raymond E. Bond Funeral Home, Valatie. Burial is at the Cemetery of the Maples, East Chatham, NY.
