Claudia Dings, age 73, the last original lifelong resident of Mechanic Street, Valatie, NY, passed away on her birthday, on July 23, 2026. Born on July 23, 1953 in Hudson, NY, she was the daughter of the late Helen (Novak) Dings of Valatie, NY and Lester (Erna) Dings of Columbia, Missouri.

Claudia was preceded in death by her brother, Paul Dings. She is survived by her brother, Charles (Ellen Giroux) Dings of Nassau, NY.Claudia was a graduate of Ichabod Crane High School and Hudson Valley Community College. She retired from the NYS Thruway Authority. Claudia also worked many summers at the Valatie Park, which she loved the most out of all of her jobs. She often enjoyed spending time outdoors while golfing and kayaking.

Friends are invited and may call from 10 - 11:30 AM, Wednesday, July 29, 2026 at the Raymond E. Bond Funeral Home in Valatie, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 12 PM at St. John The Baptist Church, in Valatie. Burial will be at St. John's Cemetery.

The family wishes to express their heartfelt thanks to the 4th Floor Infusion Center of Samaritan Hospital (Memorial Campus), Hospice, Katherine Garnett, Brittany Baker, and Chaplain Matthew McTigue for their care and compassion during her illness.
