Craig Douglas Guild, Sr., 66 of Stuyvesant Falls, NY passed away on 7/21/2026, Craig was born in Cohoes, NY to Charles and Florence (Durocher) Guild, Sr. on June 9, 1960.
He went to Cohoes Senior High School and graduated in 1978. He worked as a Correction's Officer for The NYS Office of Children and Families Services, Brookwood Secure Center, for several years. Craig renovated four of our homes and always enjoyed his corgis and his Rescued Pony- Cocoa. In his free time, he was a Cub Scout Leader and also coached Kinderhook youth soccer. Craig was quite the prankster- just ask his kids, nieces or nephews.
Craig proudly served his country in the US Navy, E-5, Damage Controlman on the USS Peleliu (LHA 5) out of Long Beach, CA from 1/88 to 1/93. He was awarded the following: Southwest Asia Service Medal (w/Bronze Star), Sea Service Deployment Ribbon, National Defense Service Medal, Humanitarian Service Medal, Joint Meritorious Unit Award, Navy Achievement Medal and the Good Conduct Medal.
Craig is survived by his wife and best friend, Eileen Guild of Stuyvesant Falls, NY. Also left to mourn his passing are his children, Bradley and Kate (McNulty) Gildersleeve, Sean and Bridget (Tormey) Gildersleeve and Zachery Guild (his other best bud) and his grandchildren, Bradley, Sophie, Lola and Reid Gildersleeve; his siblings, Charles and Kathy (Fish) Guild, Jr. of Cohoes, Cindy Opaf (Wayd Bush) of Latham, Colleen Knox (Paul lnman) of Watervliet; sister-in-laws, Maureen Gannon of Kinderhook and Elaine Bedell and brothers-in-law Gary Novak of Stuyvesant, Christopher Knox of Troy and Vincent Gannon; nieces and nephews, Michelle Novak and her children, Natalie, Colin, Aiden and Brynn MacDonald; Chuck Guild III and his sons, Ryan and Finn; Courtney and Patrick Ryan and children, Makenzie and Eamon Ryan; Megan and Troy Murray and daughter, Ella; Jessica and Eric Moglin and sons, Trevor and Chase; Patricia Novak and Joseph Parker and their children, Aleyna and Joey Parker; Katey Gannon and Jillian Knox (Tom Pratt) and numerous cousins. He is also survived by his good friends, Bill Podell, Robert and Phyllis Eggleston, Jackie Engel, Kelly Brousseau, Cindy and Brian Gay, Robert Balint, Darrin Graziano, Jody Herbst and John Teatom. He was predeceased by his parents, Charles Sr. and Florence; a sister-in-law, Patricia Ann Novak; a brother-in-law, Paul Ratigan and his beloved cousins, Walter Rynasko and Christopher Charbonneau.
Craig chose to be cremated. A Celebration of Life will be held at the VFW in Stuyvesant Falls, NY 12174 on August 1, 2026@ 1:00 pm.
