Richard J. Fedigan, 69, of Valatie, NY, passed away on May 29, 2026 at his home. Born in Albany, NY, on July 16, 1956, he was the son of the late John and Elizabeth (Vought) Fedigan. Rich was a graduate of Columbia High School and earned a bachelor's degree from SUNY Plattsburgh. He had a long career with the NYS Department of Health.

Rich loved spending every summer of his life on Lake George in Ticonderoga, NY, and passed this down to his family. He enjoyed boating, water skiing, scuba diving, fishing, and hiking. He had a large historical book collection and spent many hours reading. He was an active member of area car clubs and enjoyed displaying his extensive rock and mineral collection. Many winters were spent downhill skiing and snowshoeing. A lover of pets, he always carried dog treats in his pockets for any furry friend he met. Rich was always the first to offer his assistance to family and friends and will be remembered for his generous spirit.

Rich is survived by his beloved wife Deborah J. (Korona) Fedigan, his daughters Sarah Fedigan (Peter Zownir) and Kristen Fedigan, siblings Joanne (Bruce) Peppard and James (Mary) Fedigan, and their families.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 1 PM, Thursday, June 4, 2026 at St. John the Baptist Church, Rt. 9, Valatie. Calling hours will be held beforehand from 11 AM – 12:30 PM at the Raymond E. Bond Funeral Home, Rt.9, Valatie. Burial will take place at St. John the Baptist Cemetery, Valatie.
