Veronica C. Johnson, 88, of Ghent, NY, passed away peacefully on February 23, 2026, at her son's home in Ghent, NY.

Born on February 18, 1938, in Hudson, NY, she was the daughter of the late Harry and Gladys Sitcer and the wife of the late Malcolm J. Johnson. Veronica was also predeceased by her beloved son, Gary Johnson.

Veronica dedicated many years of service as a Nurse's Aide at Barnwell Nursing Home in Valatie, NY. She was known for her kindness she extended to those in her care.

Family was the center of Veronica's life. She was a loving mother, a proud and devoted grandmother and great grandmother and cherished her time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. They were her greatest joy. Veronica also treasured her time spent in Florida, soaking up the sunshine, and looked forward each year to the fall foliage in Vermont.

She is survived by her children: Mark Johnson of Valatie, Robert Johnson of Glenmont, Malcolm J. Johnson, Jr. of Louisburg, NC, and Scott Johnson of Ghent, NY; and by her devoted and "awesome" caregiver daughter-in-law, Suzie Tilton-Garcia. She also leaves behind her many loving grandchildren, great-grandchildren, extended family, and friends who will miss her dearly.

A graveside service will be held Friday at 11:00 AM at Woodlawn Cemetery, Rt. 203, Valatie, NY.

Arrangements are entrusted to the Raymond E. Bond Funeral Home, Valatie, NY.
