Jeffrey John Miller, "Mills", 51, of Valatie, NY passed away peacefully on December 18, 2025 at Albany Medical Center surrounded by his family and friends.
Born in Albany, NY on May 10, 1974, Jeff was the youngest child of John Miller and Dale Loveday. Growing up with his big sister, Jennifer in the Bells Acres neighborhood in Valatie, he met the first of his lifelong friends with whom he attended Ichabod Crane Central School and he graduated in 1992. While at Ichabod, he was a gifted athlete and proud member of the 1992 Varsity Boys Baseball State Champions—a group of teammates and coaches with whom Jeff forged close bonds that have remained for the last 33 years.
Jeff worked at Clearview Packaging in Albany, where he was respected for his dedication and work ethic. His career spanned twenty years and culminated with his position as a Process Engineer. Jeff was ever grateful to the Romers and his Clearview family for their flexibility and compassion as he navigated all of the obstacles his illness placed on his worklife.
Jeffrey is survived by his parents, John Miller (Debbie) of Albany, NY and Dale Loveday of Valatie, NY. His sister, Jennifer Cox (Kevin) of Frisco TX, his nephews, Garrett (Sara) and Spencer Cox, who loved their Uncle "Jiffy", his great niece, Carmen Cox and his aunt and Godmother, Elaine Behrendt. His dedicated partner in parenthood and friendship, Kristin Leonard and his daughter & absolute love of his life, Emily Leonard-Miller—the person that could always move him to laughter, even in the most difficult of times. He was predeceased by his stepfather, Vic Loveday.
In addition to his loving family, Mills is survived by an immeasurable number of friends. Known for his love of life, his sharp sarcasm, and his larger-than-life personality, Jeffrey laughed hard, loved hard, and lived fully, leaving behind countless memories and smiles. His gifts of loyalty, compassion and humor kept him close in the hearts of all who were fortunate to know him and in their hearts he will remain. In Kristin's words, "If you define a man by his friends and family and by the love his community bestowed upon him, then you've met the richest man in the world." Jeffrey was rich indeed.
The family would like to express their gratitude to all of Jeffrey's wonderful friends that have surrounded him with love and protection all these years.
