Duane ("Dewey") J. Hotaling, 90, of Niverville, NY, passed away peacefully at his residence with his family at bedside on Saturday, December 20, 2025.

Dewey was born on June 30, 1935 in Hudson, NY to Duane B. and Frances Hotaling. He grew up in Kinderhook, NY and graduated from Martin H. Glynn High School in Valatie, NY in 1953.

Dewey was employed for over 35 years as a Heating Technician at Miller-Wilkins, Inc. in Valatie, NY. During his time there, he formed many life-long relationships with his customers.

Dewey was a very simple man, who was dedicated to his home and family. He enjoyed baseball, especially watching the LA Dodgers; in addition to everything outdoors during the summer months. He always looked forward to going camping, maintaining his garden, collecting antique tractors and attending tractor pull events, saleing, and most of all spending quality time with his family and friends. He was a life-long member of the Niverville Fire Department and a member of the Hudson Valley Old Time Power Association.

He is survived by his son, Duane F. (Mary Anne) Hotaling of Niverville, NY, daughter Holly M. (Joseph) Carlotti of Niverville, NY, his two grandsons; Duane Anthony Hotaling of Nassau, NY, and Gary (Jessica) Lynch, Jr. of North Carolina, one great-granddaughter Larissa (Benjamin) Huddleson of Utah, and his furry best friend companion, Allis.

He was predeceased by both of his parents, in addition to his wife, Arlene M. (Tator) Hotaling, son, Anthony E. Hotaling, step-son, Burton D. Pulver, and sister, Marcella F. Stupplebeen.

Callers are welcome at 10:30am, with a service to follow at 11am on Monday, December 29, 2025, at Raymond E. Bond Funeral Home, Route 9, Valatie, with Rev. Nick Becker officiating. Interment will follow at the Woodlawn Cemetery, Valatie.
