Chester Joseph Klobukowski Obituary

Chester J. Klobukowski, 91, of Latham, NY passed away on September 25, 2025 at the Samaritan Hospital in Troy, NY. Born on December 2, 1933 in Duryea, PA, he was the son of the late Stephen and Helen (Filipkowski) Klobukowski.


Chester was a 1952 graduate of Duryea High School and Penna State Police Academy. He served in the USAF-Korean Conflict for 4 years and was honorably discharged. He worked as a Penna State Trooper, New York State Senate -Sgt At Arms, Kinderhook Town Justice, Civil Defense Advisor for Columbia County, NY. He also worked for Chemical Leaman Tank Lines as a Safety Supervisor and Safety Director for Mt. View Coach Lines and Chatham School District. He was First Grand Knight of John J. Curran Council Knights of Columbus and a member of Fourth Degree, Hudson Council, NY. Chester was also a Communicate, Eucharistic Minister and Usher at St. Gabriel's Parish in Rotterdam and served as Eucharistic Minister at Capital Living Rehabilitation Center in Schenectady, NY.


He married Mary Ann Kuras from West Suffield, CT and went on to have 4 children, the late Helen Fisher, Harold Klobukowski of Castro Valley, CA, Kathryn Conway of Rotterdam, NY and the late Gregory Klobukowski. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Laura (Fisher) Gordon, Katrina Fisher, Heather and Joseph J. Klobukowski, Alissa Delfosse, Joseph and Mary Kathryn Conway and a great grandchild, Roary Mykel.


Besides his parents, daughter and son, he is also predeceased by his brothers, Julius and Stephen Klobukowski and sisters, Edna Adams, Estelle Klobukowski and Marion Sanchuk.


A mass of Christian burial for Chester will take place 11AM, Wednesday at St. John the Baptist Church, Valatie. Burial will follow in the church's cemetery with Air Force Military Honors.
