Obituary of Carol Jean Williams

Carol Jean Williams, 81, of Valatie, NY, passed away peacefully at her home on May 6, 2025. Born on April 23, 1944 in Hudson, NY, she was the daughter of the late John and Helen (Youzwak) Williams. Before her retirement, she was employed at Sterling Drug in Rensselaer as Shop Steward. Carol was well known and loved by all who resides in the Village of Valatie, especially the Main Street Diner, Valatie. The family would like to express a special thank you to Carol's neighbors, Juan and Juan Jr. for always looking out for her. She is survived by her daughter, Doreen Chevalier of Las Vegas, Nevada; her sisters, Tonia Roberts of Scotia, NY and Katherine Shields of North Carolina; her nephew, Craig (Kimberly) Williams; her nieces, Lisa (Avery Blowers) Roberts, Monica Shields, Cindy Lesson and Brenda (James) Boyd. Carol is also survived by several great nieces and nephews, great great nieces and cousins. Besides her parents, she is also predeceased by her brother, William J. Williams and nephew, Walter Shields. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11 AM, Saturday, May 10, 2025 at St. John the Baptist Church, Valatie. Burial will follow in the church's cemetery.
