Obituary of Barbara J. Foote
Please share a memory of Barbara to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Barbara J Foote went home to the Creator on April 8, 2025. Barbara's story and Journey began on August 25, 1949 when she joined her parents Walter L Klett and Bessie J Richburg Klett at Albany, New York. Barbara was a city girl who grew up in Albany and graduated from Albany High School and Albany Business College in Accounting. She was a member of the First Lutheran Church and a member of the Organization of Triangles . After graduating she worked at the New York State Attorney General's Office where she met her husband Charles F Foote, a country boy. The city girl moved with Charlie to settle in an old farm in Stuyvesant, New York where they raised their children Deanna L Mehlenbacher and Stephen C Foote and many pets. Once Deanna and Stephen were grown she returned to school and graduated from Columbia Green Community College in Business Administration. In addition to maintaining her home and caring for her family she returned to work at the Kinderhook Pharmacy and later at the Columbia County Clerk's Office until she retired. Barbara was an avid reader keeping a large personal library. She loved flowers and plants and working in her gardens. She was artistic in different crafts including crocheting, ceramics and making wool hooked rugs. She loved to crochet lap blankets and donate them for others. She was a member of the Kinderhook Rug Hookers. Barbara also loved spending time with her grandchildren Samantha, Andrew, Caden and Mallory and her great grandchildren Wyatt, Isaiah and Rowan. She loved the many cats and dogs she cared for and especially enjoyed having a cat sleep on her lap or Chewy and Mollie lie on her bed. Although she enjoyed traveling it became more difficult for her and eventually impossible. Although Barbara's mobility had become restricted she truly loved her final months at home with her family, friends, medical providers and caregivers. The love and care given to Barbara by her family, friends, medical providers and caregivers is living proof that angels exist on earth. Barbara and Charlie are thankful for the friendship, love and care extended to them by family, friends, Gardina Construction, Ryan Marshall NP, Cora, Emma, Jade and everyone at The Community Hospice. Barbara's story does not end here but continues on in the care and love of the Creator and the memory or her family and friends. The city girl had completely become a country girl. A celebration of Barbara's life on Earth will be held from 4-6 PM, Tuesday, April 29, 2025 at the Raymond E. Bond Funeral Home, Valatie, NY. We would request that any remembrances that anyone wishes to make be given to The Community Hospice or to an animal rescue organization of their choice.
