I just found out about Anita's passing. I know I will never forget walking down the hall at Barnwell and smelling those wonderful aromas coming from Mama's Kitchen on baking day. She surely made a big difference in many lives there. I was fortunate enough to get to see Anita about once a week, while working at TJ Maxx, when she and her daughter came in to shop. She always had a big smile. She was a very special lady. My sincere sympathy to all the family.

Can't imagine what I'll do without my "Anita" carrot cake at the church bake sale. No one else had a smile to match hers or a quick remark to brighten everyone's day! Pat, neighbor and cake eater!

All I know of Mrs. Hinkle was from her children. Never, ever heard a less than wonderful word about her. She had a long and I hope happy and rewarding life and her memory will live on with her children and grandchildren for a long time to come.

I grew up on Sharptown Road with the Hinkel family. We rode the bus to school every day. Debbie and I remained dear friends long after high school and enjoy visiting with other classmates to this day. Mrs Hinkel was always kind and cheerful (as are her daughters). My two most recent memories of Anita are when she attended my farewell brunch with Susie and Debbie; and at 184 Sharptown Road again this past July 4th, when she watched fireworks while eating ice cream in Debbie's car. She was a precious gift to the world and I will miss her dearly.

Five generations, beginning with Nanny. She had all the wealth anyone could wish for in the love she had from her family. She created a family and life to be envious of. Everyone cherished her. We love you Nanny.
